Clouds and rain behaved for the once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse over North Texas, but that will not be the case heading into Monday night.North Texas is under the gun for severe weather over the next two days with heavy rain, high winds, large hail and tornadoes all possible. Hail will be the main threat. A large cluster of storms from the south is moving northeast that will eventually make its way into our area Monday evening.
That's a 2 and a 3 on its scale from 1 to 5.A warm front approaching the metroplex is bringing showers and thunderstorms. They will likely be strong to severe practically immediately. Storm chances increase dramatically after 8 p.m. A second wave of storms coming in from the west will arrive in North Texas around 11 p.m. and keep the severe weather potential alive through the overnight hours into Tuesday morning.
