The Dallas City Council approved a new budget for the next year after another round of strong debate. The vote was 10 to 5, with the mayor on the loosing side of a push for a larger property tax rate reduction. NBC 5’s Ken Kalthoff reports the vote came after many hours fighting over a historic theater.

I go to coffee shops, gas stations, that’s where I hang out,” Council Member Gay Donnell Willis said. “This set off alarm bells, and I think that’s why what was in the book has shifted.
