Rather than re-open Dallas Chop House in downtown Dallas after it’s been

The stylish, art deco restaurant sells surf and turf, lobster mac and cheese, roasted bone marrow and the like. Wicked Butcher thrived in the past two years, Alam says — which is notable, since at least 3,000 restaurants in North TexasNotably, Alam’s team had been paying rent on Dallas Chop House for an incredible 26 months while it remained closed. Their fourth downtown Dallas restaurant, Chop House Burger, remained open.

And although Dallas Chop House was out-of-sight, out-of-mind the past two years, its place in downtown Dallas was significant for the more than 10 years it was open. At the time, opening a restaurant in that sector of downtown Dallas was a risk. “They couldn’t get anybody to come down here,” Hoque says. But he moved in, not only with Dallas Chop House, but also by signing three more restaurant leases.Wild Salsa will eventually reopen across the street. Patience, they say.
