After pleading guilty to the charges in September 2021, Rayshun Jackson was sentenced to five years in federal prison for conspiring to launder money for what he thought was a drug trafficking operation.

As part of his plea agreement, attorney Rayshun Jackson could spend five years in a federal prison.has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for conspiring to launder money in relation to what he thought was narcotics trafficking.

Jackson admitted in plea papers to laundering $380,000 for someone he thought was a drug trafficker. The person was actually an undercover DEA agent. By funneling it through coin-based laundromats, car washes, other cash businesses and shell organizations, Jackson told the agent he could launder some $500,000 a month. According to court documents, Person A told the agent, “Ray is the bomb ... He’s a thug, he’s just got a law degree.”

He admitted he knew this was unlawful and took part in it willingly. Jackson hasn’t been allowed to practice law since he was convicted.
