OZARK- A $50,000 grant for a planned apartment complex coming to Ozark and a $6,000 pay raise for the Emergency Management Agency Director were among the agenda items approved at the Dale County Commission meeting Tuesday.
Smith said the $5.2 million construction project will receive a $250,000 grant over 10 years from the city of Ozark and the Ozark Water Board has provided incentives to move the project forward. The commission approved a $50,000 grant derived from the county lodging tax to be used for asbestos abatement, demolition of buildings and grading of the property.
The commission also approved raising EMA Director Willie Worsham’s salary to $60,000 from $54,192. Dale County Commission Chairman Steve McKinnon said the pay raise comes on the heels of a recent survey of EMA Director salaries in the surrounding counties and Worsham’s level of experience.
