Igor Shesterkin stopped 18 of 20 shots to improve to 7-2-2 on the year as New York scored six unanswered goals in the third period to shock the Red Wings 8-2. Adam Fox led all skaters with a goal and three assists as he moved to third in defenseman scoring across the NHL with 16 points in 15 games. Mika Zibanajed potted two goals off a team-high five SOG as he now has 18 points in 15 games as he continues his hot start.
Joonas Korpisalo stopped 32 of 34 to pick up his first win of the season as Columbus beat Philadelphia 5-2 at home Thursday. Boone Jenner led the Blue Jackets with two goals off a team-high four SOG, while Johnny Gaudreau scored and added two assists to bring his early season totals to 12 points in 13 games. Zach Werenski played only 6:03 TOI before leaving due to injury but managed to still pick up a goal and an assist.
