A six-part documentary will examine the curious case of a 'six-year-old' orphan from Ukraine whose adopted parents Michael Barnett and wife Kristine believed had a rare bone growth disorder. .
According to the Mirror, the American couple were recently acquitted of neglect charges after abandoning her to live alone in an apartment while they moved to Canada. The parents claim that the girl was 22 at the time they left her - despite her calming she was just a child in court. In one instance he recalls the day that they adopted Natalia, he says: "We get to the hotel that night, and Kristine’s going to give our brand new daughter a bath, and I hear a shout from the bathroom. This was a, ‘I’m not playing around, come here right now, Michael’ shout."
In another instance, he recalls how his wife discovered a pair of Natalia's underwear, with a home video showing the couple telling the girl to explain what had happened.
