Seven-seat Jogger gets battery power alongside a petrol engine - for not much money, either.
As every single car on the road gets more complex , so the appeal of a Dacia increases. That looks set to continue with its first hybrid;140 doesn’t make any wild performance claims or offer the very latest battery tech, but it does seat seven, return 56mpg, and cost £22k. There aren’t many other cars that can do that, if any.
Perhaps more pertinently, it’s suggested that the battery, despite its small size, can allow the Jogger to spend up to 80 per cent of urban driving time in pure electric mode. Dacia reckons this could save up to 40 per cent of the fuel used by an equivalent petrol car. Regen and engine braking can be increased by a ‘B’ mode for the gearbox, but the Jogger can’t be plugged in.
