Alf Lees says the party wishes the new commissioner well on the mammoth task to repair the broken institution.
The Democratic Alliance on Thursday welcomed the appointment of Edward Kieswetter as the new commissioner of the South African Revenue Service , who takes over from acting commissioner Mark Kingon.
Kieswetter holds an MBA in strategy and transformation and a masters of commerce in South African and international tax law, cum laude, among other qualifications. Alf Lees, the DA spokesperson on finance, said they wished Kieswetter well on the mammoth task to repair the broken institution, adding that they would continue to monitor all developments at Sars “as we fight to make sure it is a well-functioning institution”.
