Pupils were left without meals for two weeks when the former supplier failed to deliver food to more than 5 400 schools on the programme.
The department announced last week that it will be going back to the old model of supplying food to schools.But the DA's Dr Imraan Keeka says there some questions that need answering. "I have, on my mind, the ECD sector that is now the responsibility of the provincial education department and I have several questions about feeding children at this level which is very important. I say this because it is indeed during these early days of a child's development that a nutritious meal is most vital to allow for proper mental and physical development which is the cornerstone of the NSNPs intention.
