D.C. police on Friday arrested a 15-year-old and charged him with first-degree murder in the July fatal shooting of a former U.S. military interpreter who emigrated from his native Afghanistan and was killed while working as a Lyft driver on Capitol Hill.

Police said Ahmad Yar had just dropped off a passenger and was sitting in his black Toyota Highlander a block south of Maryland Avenue NE in the Capitol Hill neighborhood when multiple teens approached him.
