They went on sale across a handful of stores
Subway's limited edition Creme Egg melt has 'gone too far', according to shoppers. The bizarre six-inch sub, toasted and filled with the gooey Cadbury treat, has gone on sale on Good Friday at just a handful of stores.
@defnoodles said: “This better be an April Fools' joke.” While Twitter user @zburnham781 said: “We as a civilization need to step back and ask ourselves if we've gone too far,” while @WallyThaGreat simply added “disgusting.” Some fans came to the defence of the Easter sub, however, with @LisaMayOfficial saying: “I’m sorry but I kinda want it lol.” And @2PickNeedham wrote: “Looks like melted chocolate on bread, I see no problems.”
Rusty Warren, senior NPD and product innovation manager at Subway, said: "We're delighted to have collaborated with Cadbury this Easter. Our Italian White Bread and Cadbury Creme Eggs make the most flavoursome combination - a perfect seasonal treat!
