The John Weber Era at CSU became official Thursday.
CSU Rams president Amy Parsons announced that Weber will continue as athletic director on a permanent basis, removing the interim tag that had been place since the latter stepped into the role this past February.Earlier this month, Parker joined the University of Iowa as deputy athletic director for strategic initiatives, a role he’s expected to begin by the start of the collegiate fiscal year on July 1.
“I am grateful to President Amy Parsons for entrusting me to lead our department as the world of college athletics is in a period of significant transformation,” Weber said in a statement released by the university.
Terms of Weber’s appointment were not immediately announced by CSU. Parker had more than three years remaining on a contract that ran through Dec. 31, 2027, which reportedly included a base salary of $439,192. CSU also announced the addition of Steve Sidwell as deputy athletic director and CEO, coming to Fort Collins after having served in a deputy AD role with Penn State.
