The meeting of the governing party’s highest decision-making body between conferences is set to discuss the findings of the report by the independent panel into the Phala Phala scandal.The meeting could very well decide President Cyril Ramaphosa's political future.
The report, compiled by a parliamentary panel, has found he may have violated his oath of office over his handling of the 2020 cash heist on his private Limpopo farm. Political analyst Theo Venter believes the ANC stands to lose more electoral support if the president resigns.ALSO READ: "It is two weeks before national conference, it is 18 months away from an election and the losing party here is the ruling party. I think this is seriously hampering and working against them at the moment."
