Two RCMP cruisers arrived and the pastor’s wife provided them with the clause in the order they believed allowed prayer and reflection to occur. “I’m quite happy with the outcome,” Ripley said Wednesday. “It’s been almost two years since the infraction, the ticket was given. That was in January 2021 and here we are towards the end of 2022. So it’s been quite a while.”Article content

Marty Moore, a lawyer with the Alberta-based Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedom, which represented Ripley, said that the Crown won’t proceed to trial and can stay charges when there’s not a substantial likelihood of conviction and it’s not in the public interest.
