Modack and his 14 co-accused face 124 charges for various crimes, including murder, extortion, money laundering and racketeering.
This week, proceedings were delayed for three days due to an ethical issue related to a defence attorney involved in the trial.
State prosecutor Greg Wolamrens told the court that Parkar, who represents three of the accused on trial, could not proceed without prejudice. Parkar told the court he had previously clarified his position with the State, and his clients are happy for him to continue representing them, saying he would do so without prejudice.
