Cristiano Ronaldo was charged by the British Football Association for improper conduct after an incident involving a teen with autism following Manchester United's loss in April.
As the 14-year-old tried to catch the Manchester United superstar's attention as he headed back to the changing room at Goodison Park, following the Red Devils' 1-0 defeat to Everton in April, Ronaldo lashed out and angrily slapped Jacob’s phone out of his hand. “The phone rang again, and a man said, ‘Hello, this is Cristiano Ronaldo’. He asked me if I would like to come down and meet his family. He said, ‘I’m not a bad dad’. I said to him, ‘I never said you were a bad dad’. He said, ‘I had a terrible upbringing, I lost my dad’. I said to him, ‘Everybody has a sob story, Ronaldo, I lost my dad young, I’ve had cancer’,” Sarah told the Daily Mirror in August.
Ronaldo, who led Portugal in the match, threw his captain’s armband on the pitch and stormed off after his goal was not given resulting in a 2-2 draw against Serbia.
