The in-development Criminal Minds reboot on Paramount+ reportedly getting a 10-season order.
The Criminal Minds reboot is reportedly moving forward with a 10-episode order on Paramount+. It has been two years since the CBS police procedural ended its successful 15-season run. But due to its popularity, it didn't take long before Paramount put attempts for a revival in motion.
In 2021, the Criminal Minds reboot was announced as part of a bigger slate confirmation for Paramount+'s original content plan. The lack of movement on the project became a cause for concern for fans worried it might be dead in the water.
Based on the progress of rebuilding the set for the Criminal Minds reboot image from Mantegna, it makes sense that Paramount+ has already given the project the go-ahead. After all, it wouldn't make sense for the series to start the re-construction of the BAU office if the series isn't moving forward. That's unless the streamer asked those involved for a pilot test that would determine whether or not to officially greenlit the revival.
Unlike the original network run of Criminal Minds, the reboot will expand on one case, devoting one whole season to catching a single unsub. This way, the show can focus on the profiling aspect of the procedural, which is arguably its best part. For its first season on Paramount+, it's curious if the revival will pit the BAU team against a new suspect or if it will bring back a familiar one from the profilers' past as they tend to do when it was still with CBS.
