[ICYMI] Crime in SA | Senior Mpumalanga ANC official arrested

NELSPRUIT - Mpumalanga Premier, Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, says she'll take appropriate action against a provincial MEC after he appears in court.

The MEC is accused of being involved in an August shooting that killed two people and wounded a third. He claims the allegations are political. Two other people are also facing charges but have since been released on bail until their next court appearance. ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe says that if any of its members are criminally charged, they will be asked to step aside. Mabe says the party is still looking into reports that a Mpumalanga MEC handed himself over to police in a case involving murder.
