Eastbound lanes of Route 30 were shut down for hours Monday evening while police investigated a shooting incident.
According to the Northern York County Regional Police Department, officers responded at 6:22 p.m. to multiple reports of shots fired on Route 30 in Manchester Township .
On scene, officers found a disabled vehicle in the grassy area at the entrance of the Manchester Crossroads shopping plaza. The vehicle was damaged from bullets.Further investigation revealed that a 2007 Kia SUV had been driving east on Route 30 when someone in a second vehicle, also driving east, began shooting at the Kia.
The KIA crossed the concrete median into the westbound lanes and drove over a curb before coming to stop in the grassy area where police found it.Route 30 east was shut down for hours while police investigated. "Investigators believe that this was a targeted attack and that driver of the Kia was the intended target," police wrote in a press release.
