United Arab Emirates ship sinks off the coast of Iran due to stormy weather, with rescuers accounting for its 30 crew members
An Emirati-flagged cargo ship has sunk off Iran in the Persian Gulf in poor weather, with rescuers attempting to account for all of its 30 crew members.
The country's official IRNA news agency reported on Thursday that all of the ship's crew members were in the water with life vests, awaiting rescue by an Iranian ship. Captain Nizar Qaddoura, the operations manager of the Salem Al Makrani Cargo company, said that the Al Salmy 6 encountered rough and stormy weather, then capsized.
