Fuming hospital worker Myles Bancroft came out of his home swinging the axe before using it to destroy the local authority meter.
A hospital worker who used an axe to take revenge on a parking meter after being issued with several tickets has been fined £600.
"This was a serious matter. No doubt it would have been alarming for the member of the public who filmed you. You attacked the machine. Fiscal depute Larissa Milligan told Dundee Sheriff Court: "This is a council-owned car park. At around 9 am the accused came out of a close in Perth Road carrying an axe.
Bancroft, Perth Road, Dundee, admitted wilfully or recklessly destroying or damaging property by striking a parking meter with an axe. He also admitted having an offensive weapon in Mill Wynd Car park on 11 September 2023.
