Joseph Meli, 48, pleaded guilty in 2017 to tricking investors, including TGT LLC, into giving him millions —In reality, he used the cash to buy jewelry, pay private-school tuition, and repay other investors.Craig Carton served time in prison for his role in the scheme.Carton — a popular WFAN radio host — was also swept up in the scheme and did prison time.

Meli owes $9.8 million to TGT, which the company won after suing him in Manhattan Supreme Court for fraud. But instead of paying up, Meli and his father Richard have allegedly “unlawfully funneled” cash into two different trusts set up for Joseph’s kids, the company claims in court papers. TGT is suing Joseph Meli; Richard Meli; Joseph’s wife, Jessica; their kids and his father-in-law, in a bid to recoup the funds.
