An in-store display and a knitted post box topper have been unveiled at the store
Customers and staff at the Dumfries branch of Morrisons have craftily got this year’s annual Scottish Poppy Appeal all sown up.
And the supermarket’s community champion, Myra Smith, is hoping to go one better after enlisting the help of two groups of crafters to make this year’s stunning display in-store and on the post box outside in a bid to raise awareness and encourage donations. Some worked on the background mosaic while others worked on making the three dimensional poppies – which were added to the piece by hand after the quilting was completed.
