En medio de la temporada de premios, la inevitable renovación de cartelera le da todavía cabida a una propuesta que promete insertarse en las nominaciones del Oscar, así como a un ‘thriller’ que se conecta de un modo u otro con Latinoamérica y a otras producciones que analizamos igualmente en los siguientes párrafos.

En efecto, “Missing”, que se encuentra desde hoy en salas, mantiene el aspecto técnico de su antecesora, y además de darle ahora el rol estelar a una adolescente afroamericana interpretada por la popular actriz Storm Reid , refuerza su interés en el público masivo al recurrir a un relato de nivel tan accesible que hace que el de “Searching” parezca propio de una oscura propuesta ‘indie’.

Pero eso no significa que haya que desestimarla.

Lo que no podemos perdonarle es que le haya dado el papel del simpático investigador colombiano que June contacta en línea al actor portugués Joaquim de Almeida. No nos malentiendan; De Almeida es un gran actor, y hace muy bien lo suyo, pero pudo haber sido fácilmente reemplazado por un intérprete originario de la nación sudamericana en la que se filmaron realmente las numerosas escenas en las que participa .
