In the last padded practice of the West Coast portion of training camp on Wednesday, Aubrey went five-for-six on field goals.
“If you go back to the game — extremely strong legs — his kickoffs are as strong as I’ve seen,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “I love his kickoffs. We’ve really been emphasizing the operation. We’re behind there as far as the number of reps and work we’ve been able to do. The goal was to speed it up some. We hit the target [now].
”The issue with Aubrey is his lack of NFL experience. He’s never kicked in a regular season game, and his work against the Jaguars was viewed as a positive.“I definitely think we took a big step against Jacksonville,” McCarthy said.Asked about the mental side of not kicking in a regular season game, McCarthy said, “he’ll be fine.”
