The number of Covid cases in Scotland has risen, as fears continue to increase over the new Eris variant.
Eris is the latest variant giving scientists concerns. It is already the dominant coronavirus variant in the US and has surpassed the XBB.1.16 strain in terms of how transmissibility. “These summer COVID-19 spikes have occurred for the past three years, most likely because more people are travelling. COVID-19 vaccination is the most effective tool for prevention.”
