The former Prime Minister’s handling of the early days of the pandemic has come in for further questioning following evidence given by a senior aide to the Covid-19 Inquiry
Asked if he did not wonder why communications on Covid fell away during those 10 days, Mr Reynolds said: “I probably should have been but equally I think there would have been others who would normally have said: ‘we need to keep the prime minister updated’.” Asked by Mr Keith who said those words, Mr Shafi replied: “I can’t say for sure, I think it was the former Prime Minister”.
Martin Reynolds, one of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s top advisors, was questioned at phase 2 of the Covid-19 Inquiry over decision-making in Downing Street during the pandemic.
