⚠️ The NHS has issued an urgent appeal for people to get jabbed amid soaring hospital admissions 💉 As cases surge, dozens of vaccination sites will be open across England over the festive period
Hospital admission figures showed there was an average of 1,939 flu cases in England’s hospitals every day last week, up from 1,162 the week before.
By comparison, in mid-December the NHS had two flu patients a day in critical care and 32 in general and acute beds. There will be 26 sites given vaccinations on Christmas Day, with more than 250 open on Christmas Eve and around 100 on Boxing Day and 27 December, which is a Bank Holiday. “It remains the best way to protect yourself from serious illness and hospitalisation as we head into the New Year with rising infection rates and hospitalisations, and increased pressure on our urgent and emergency services”.
