Weekly COVID numbers are down, hospital cases are down and no deaths have been reported in the past 10 days
Public Health Sudbury and Districts has reported only 43 new COVID-19 cases have occurred in the local health jurisdiction since Wednesday. This brings the weekly total of new cases to 136, which is a drop from the 143 cases reported at the end of last week .
There were three deaths reported on November 16. This means there are 195 COVID-related deaths that have occurred in the Sudbury health area since the pandemic began in March of 2020. Also, it means there have been 10 deaths since the beginning of November. There continue to be several COVID-19 outbreaks in the Sudbury health jurisdiction, in long-term care homes, retirement homes and other congregate settings. PHSD reported 12 recent outbreaks and said only eight are still active.
