Between her ‘Pay My Bill’ giveaway, The Baw$e Conference, and a personal investment of $30 million through the Generational Advantage Fund, Courtney Adeleye hopes to be the mentor in big business that she never had to the women currently following in her footsteps.
Don’t Be Afraid To Do Something Different
Starting The Generational Advantage Fund is a way for Adeleye to help expose women to a wealth mindset, but the wife and mother of three has already started these lessons at home, helping her daughter Lily Adeleye to become the youngest CEO at 5-years-old to ever retail in Target stores with her company,“I definitely think it’s something that you want to encourage your kids to do at an early age,” Adeleye mentioned of how she’s nurturing her daughter’s entrepreneurial spirit.
“Sometimes we look at it as a big, big disconnect, but I don’t think it’s as big as we think. A lot of times there’s a lot of similarities in the things we do or the jobs we’ve had.” Adeleye continued to explain that it all boils down to being open minded and recognizing that we can use the skills we already have to build things much greater than what we initially anticipate. One of the ways she has continued to do this is by getting in tune with her creative self through consistent meditation.
It was Adeleye’s confidence in her products that helped her ink lucrative deals for The Mane Choice, but having a firm grasp of the financial metrics of it all was what enabled her to grow the brand from zero to over 60,000 stores in six years without any outside investment or personal debt.
