𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗸𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲’𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁:

Oslyn Eagam Varrie from Reiger Park was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years, on September 5 for being in possession of a vehicle and/or house robbery implements.Varrie was found in possession of a crowbar, two knives, two AGS bullets, a pellet gun and multiple rounds of pellets, a screwdriver, pepper spray and a smash-and-grab device on March 12 when stopped by police officers.

José Matimba from Ramaphosa was sentenced to 10 days imprisonment on September 5 for being in the country without valid documentation. The Malawian citizen pleaded guilty and was found guilty of being in contravention of Section 49 of the Immigration Act 13 of 2002 on September 5.Simon Dambuza from Ramaphosa informal settlement was sentenced to an effective 24 months behind bars for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and for contravening the Immigration Act.He assaulted his girlfriend on August 28, 2021, by hitting her with a hammer. He was also in the country without legal documentation.

Dambuza said in court he found his girlfriend sitting with a man in his home. He started shouting at her. The man ran away and he then hit his girlfriend with a hammer in the face. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment, of which eighteen months were suspended for five years, for assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm and six months imprisonment for contravention of the Immigration Act.
