With a new album full of drinking songs, Jade Eagleson is up for six awards at Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Calgary.

Still, drinking has been reliable fodder in country music from way back, from the tear in Hank Williams’ beer to the hard-living cautionary tales sung by George Jones, to the endless parade of party songs produced by baseball cap-wearing, bro-country stars.
