Country music superstar Oliver Anthony has canceled a show set for a venue in Tennessee due to the venue charging high prices for tickets, which Anthony described as"not acceptable."

The singer had been planning to perform at the Cotton Eyed Joe venue in Knoxville, Tennessee, when he discovered that it was charging $90 for tickets to the event and $200 for the meet-and-greet with Anthony after the performance. Anthony explained that his friend, who is"not a booking agent," coordinated with the venue to host his performance but did not ask what they would charge for tickets before agreeing to host Anthony, according to a video posted to Anthony's social media.

"That being said, I wish them the best," Anthony's statement read."All the fault ultimately is with me. I should have been more thoroughly involved in the booking, and I should probably consider using a professional consultant in this area. There's no reason why tickets should have went up for sale before a contract was signed."

The singer has since found other options to perform in Knoxville which will only charge $25 for admission, and has said he will provide an update once tickets go on sale.Anthony, who gained overnight fame in August through his hit song"Rich Men North Of Richmond," is currently on tour to perform across several states, including Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The singer's traveling plans go out until early October.

"Rich Men North Of Richmond" serves as a critique of politicians in Washington, D.C., and has gained over 64 million views and over 2 million likes on YouTube as of Wednesday morning. Since the song's release, Anthony has released several other songs, including"I Want To Go Home" and "90 Some Chevy."
