Counties fight over whether town is more Notts or Derbyshire

Locals residents and business owners weighed in on whether the town feels more Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire

For those who live close to county borders, picking a shire can sometimes be a bit of a problem. While many border towns fall neatly into one or the other, some are a little more blurred.

Charlotte Whittaker, who owns Yum Yums, a sweet shop in High Street, said: "That's a hard one because sometimes I feel I'm just here. But I'd call it Nottinghamshire. "I'm from Nottinghamshire and I am a Nottingham Forest fan, but I now live here." However, their companion Edward Murfin, 74, who also lives in Long Eaton, said: "No it's Derbyshire.
