Councils have agreed to ask the Scottish Government for a joint meeting with trade unions to stop bin strikes.
Labour Inverclyde Council leader Stephen McCabe, who was at the meeting, said: "I am pleased that we have finally got full cross party agreement from leaders to seek a joint meeting with our trade union colleagues and the Scottish Government. "They have a moral obligation to help bring this dispute to an end by providing Councils with the extra funding we need to reach a fair settlement with the trade unions."
