AI is not what it seems.
AI is, at present, a bunch of logic engines with loads of data to draw on. The main use is"search on steroids."
Let's be honest: Much of the"being impressed by AI" is a reflection of the human user of AI. It cuts out leg work, so we want it to take more on because we are lazy. Likewise, we want it to take on more of our lives because it gives a comforting sense of control, so we make AI bigger than it actually is.Why does this matter? If we are going to keep the AI genie in the bottle , we need to understand these motivations and the interaction between humans and AI better.
AI will excel at fusing together granular pieces of data from disparate sources and delivering it to the next user, which means that an insignificant file or piece of data you input could, in fact, be the $64 million set of megabytes. As humans, it is important that we play and have fun with AI. It is not going anywhere, and with the right development and understanding, it is only going to get more valuable. However, be real about the strengths and weaknesses of AI and the people using it in order to identify where it can help and where it can't.
