The Giants are 2-10.
Darryl Slater | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com They have lost seven straight games. They’re 0-6 at home. And they’re starting Drew Lock against a 4-8 Saints team that has already fired its coach.Mara and Tisch can’t stand apathy and embarrassing results — the sort of things that have resulted in them firing coaches after recent miserable seasons.
Bottom line: Many Giants fans are openly rooting for them to lose, so they can draft their preferred quarterback at No. 1 next spring, even thoughfor quarterbacks. Overall, a 2-15 finish would be the Giants’ second-worst season in franchise history — during their 100th season, no less. Their only worse season would be 1-12-1 in 1966.
Giants fans have gotten used to this sort of misery. The Giants were the first team eliminated from playoff contention this season, so they have missed the playoffs in 11 of 13 seasons since the 2011 Super Bowl championship. Worse still, they have nine seasons with double-digit losses in a 11-year stretch that began in 2014, when things really started souring for this once-proud franchise. More recently, the Giants have suffered double-digit losses in seven of their past eight seasons.
