As the world celebrates Mandela Day today, some South Africans have bewailed how corrupt politicians have eroded the good legacy that Nelson Mandela left. What is your feeling on this? Has Madiba's legacy been eroded?
As we are celebrating Mandela Day, we are reminded of the excellent work, the dedication and the love Madiba had for his country. He fought for our democracy and he was a reputable leader who was compassionate about children and elders during his presidency. However, the leaders who came after Tata’s presidency are not following in his footsteps, as the nation continues to suffer due to unemployment and poor service delivery, among other things.
Moolman added that:"His actions were governed by a strong set of values. He personified those values and inspired them in others. In the swamp of dishonesty, deceit and corruption, our only hope of rebuilding our country is to return to those values. We need to celebrate the values of honesty, tolerance, forgiveness, strength, perseverance and hope.
