Well-known former Coronation Street actress Vicky Entwistle has taken to social media in a desperate bid to locate teenager Jay Slater - who mysteriously vanished while holidaying in Tenerife. The star, who famously portrayed Janice Battersby on the soap, is closely connected to the family and is leveraging her public prominence to maximise awareness of Jay's disappearance, hoping it might assist in his safe return.
The Lancashire lad, just 19 years old, went missing on Monday after making the trip to the Spanish isle for a music festival. Before he disappeared, Jay had attended a rave on Sunday night, subsequently joining a duo of newfound friends for drinks at their remote flat, reports the Express.His last known contact was a phone call to a friend on Monday morning, during which he revealed that he was lost, parched, and his mobile battery percentage was perilously down to one per cent.
Another person offered to help, commenting: "We are in Tenerife if we can help in any way let us know." Since then, Jay's phone has lost power. His last known whereabouts were pinpointed near Teno Rural Park in the north-west of Tenerife, not far from a well-trodden hiking path.
