Breaking: Convicted killer back in custody after escape from Kingston prison
A Hamilton-area murderer was arrested without incident, hours after walking free from a prison in Kingston, Ont., provincial police say.
Immediately after his reported escape from custody Tuesday, police had warned he could pose a safety risk and that a warrant had been issued for his arrest. Under the advice of their lawyers and the Crown attorney’s office, Kohl pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and the two others pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He had originally pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
