The fossil was what he said it was and you could count on that because of his"great knowledge of the Sydney Coal Fields," Tobin said.
According to his obituary, he personally collected Canada’s most significant carboniferous fossil-plant collection of over 15,000 fossils from the Cape Breton coal mines and named 11 new species. He is also the co-author of two books and his individual and collaborative research has been published extensively.
“Evolutionary history is written in the rocks, you have to learn how to read the rocks,” he said in the video about his work.
