The deal was reached between Mine Mill and the University of Sudbury earlier this month
A press release said the contract was reached between the Mine Mill Local 598/Unifor and the University of Sudbury bargaining committee on Sept. 14. The tentative agreement was ratified by 100 per cent of the affected workers on Sept. 15.
The University of Sudbury is an educational institution formerly federated with Laurentian University. Then, in September of 2021, the Board of Regents of the University of Sudbury unanimously passed a resolution to transform the institution into a university governed by and for Francophones.
