MARTINEZ — A 20-year-old Vallejo man was charged Tuesday with two counts of murder and other crimes in connection with a police pursuit in West County that ended in a car crash that killed a mother and her 6-year-old son, authorities said.
Hercules police said an officer attempted to pull White over, but he drove off and led police on a chase before crashing into a Nissan driven by 31-year-old Ryniqueka Dowell. She died as a result of the crash and her twin 6-year-old sons, Jamani and Jamari Humble, who were in the Nissan, were taken to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, where Jamari was pronounced dead Monday. Jamani suffered a broken leg and other injuries, authorities said.
White managed to get out and run north along Parker, police said. He was arrested at a nearby liquor store.
