Public works and infrastructure minister Dean Macpherson says construction mafias will be dealt with.
South Africa’s minister of public works and infrastructure, Dean Macpherson , has warned construction mafias in the country that they will be treated as enemies of the state.
During his budget vote speech on Tuesday, 16 July 2024, Macpherson highlighted several priorities for his department and committed to a strong stance against construction mafias. According to specialist investigator Mike Bolhuis, construction mafias have proliferated in South Africa due to the involvement ofBolhuis said this is because authorities fear construction mafias and the consequences of fighting against them.
