After a huge search involving 200 people, police announced the 'heartbreaking' discovery of a baby's body in Brighton after a near two-month hunt for Gordon and Marten. Officers continue to question the couple in custody.
Constance Marten and Mark Gordon were arrested in Brighton on MondayAn extensive cordon covers allotments that were at the centre of the search, as well as nearby houses, and a woodland area.
The couple had been missing with the baby since 5 January when their car caught fire on the M61 near Bolton. Police lodged an appeal for the couple to come forward, saying the baby was"at the heart of the investigation" and that concerns were rising"day by day" for the child's wellbeing.
