Eight years ago, Edmonton became a sea of blue as ribbons were strung from trees, poles, and bridges across the city to honour an officer killed on the job. On Thursday, the school named after that officer once again put up ribbons of solidarity.

Const. Daniel Woodall School, named after the last Edmonton Police Service officer who died in the line of duty in 2015, strung blue ribbons and changed their school sign in solidarity for Const. Travis Jordan and Const. Brett Ryan, who were killed on the job Thursday, March 16, 2023.“I’m heartbroken to hear the news of two officers sadly taken today in the line of duty,” the statement reads.“I’m saddened to think these same feelings will be shared by the fallen officers’ families again today.
