Boris Johnson's Tory leadership are urging the front runner to replace Theresa May to take part in upcoming TV debates.

Boris Johnson's Conservative leadership rivals have joined forces to demand he join them in TV debates as they try to close the gap on the runaway favourite to become prime minister. All 6 of the remaining candidates — Jeremy Hunt, Michael Gove, Dominic Raab, Sajid Javid, Matt Hancock, and Rory Stewart — wrote a letter committing to take part in debates on Channel 4 and BBC debates. Johnson's team is concerned he could make a gaffe on national television which could derail his bid.
