It is not unreasonable to wonder if a gift to the Trudeau Foundation is connected to China\u0027s efforts to violate the sovereignty of Canada
However, the real controversy here is the inadequacy of the Justin Trudeau government’s response to what undoubtedly seems to be a prolonged, increasing, and widespread attempt by the Chinese government to infiltrate various key areas of Canadian life, including a wide range of Chinese Canadian institutions, at least eleven individual constituency races in the 2019 federal election, and continued meddling in the 2021 campaign, as well as the recent mayoral election in Vancouver.
In this context, it is not unreasonable to wonder if a gift to the Trudeau Foundation is connected to what appears to be the generally successful effort by the Chinese government to be as meddlesome as it wishes in activities that violate the sovereignty of Canada. There was no reason to expect board directors of the Trudeau Foundation to know anything about this.
Every Canadian is entitled to ask why successive governments of both parties seem to have been idle in such a vital matter of national security that is so conspicuous and contemptuous an invasion of Canada’s jurisdiction that it is disruptive to our relationship with the United States, upon which, whether we like it or not, our national security and economic stability chiefly depend.
