Opinion: Congressional ethics take a huge hit
None of us, here in our workaday worlds, really loves the idea of excessive oversight in our jobs.Not a good look around the office, touting too much my way or the highway.That might be tough, at the same time keeping us on the straight and narrow.
Especially if the independent body that were doing that merely had a say over how you were doing, ethically, in the workplace. Yet undermining independent oversight of congressional ethics is exactly what newly empowered Republican leaders in the House of Representatives did this month in one of their first moves after taking control of the House.
